DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A member of Davao City’s Central 911 Emergency Response Center is relieved following a shooting incident and violation of Covid-19 quarantine rules.
In a statement on Tuesday, Central 911 Chief Emmanuel Jaldon identified the personnel as Reego Vismanos who figured in a shooting incident transpired in Datu Paglas Maguindanao last May 8, 2020.
Vismanos survived the shooting while his companion Joaquin Fordaliza died during the incident. Jaldon said that Vismanos’ trip to Maguindanao was not related to his work.
Vismanos is subject to police investigation following the violation of quarantine measures set by the Davao City government due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It happened while Davao City was strictly implementing movement restrictions under the Enhanced Community Quarantine,” he added.
“Because of this, the services of Mr. Vismanos at Central 911 are being discontinued effective immediately. Let this serve as a reminder for others that the City Government of Davao does not tolerate personnel who boldly defy policies — setting a bad example for others,” said Jaldon. (davaotoday.com)
