DAVAO CITY – A total of six alleged members of the New People’s Army surrendered in Sarangani province this week, the Army said.
In a statement, the Army said the NPA members “voluntarily surrendered to the soldiers of the 73rd Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army from June 19 to 23” in Malapatan and Alabel towns.
On June 19, alias Dindin 19 years old; alias Lovely 18 years old; and alias Junex, 19 years old surrendered to the soldiers in Malapatan, while on June 23 three other NPA members identified as alias Arman, 19 yrs old; alias Noli, 18 yrs old; and alias Michael, 22 yrs old also surrendered in Barangay Pag-asa, Alabel.
Army commander Lt. Col. Ronnie Babac of the 73rd IB said that they are now facilitating the appropriate livelihood and other assistance under the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (Clip) from the local government of Sarangani. (davaotoday.com)
