An 18-year-old student fell prey to a budol-budol gang in Tagum City Public terminal in Davao del Norte at 2:00 pm Thursday.
The victim was identified as Daffney Bebs D. Mahilum a student and a resident of Country Homes, Mankilam, Tagum City.
According to Mahilum while she was in the bus terminal, an unidentified person approached her saying his friend badly needed a delivery truck to transport his seven tons of pineapple to Maragusan town of Compostela Valley Province.
Another unidentified person interrupted their conversation shortly and told the person that he knows there is a truck for rent nearby.
The first unidentified man requested to use her Lenovo and Cherry mobile phones to talk to his contacts in Maragusan. The two men left her their supposed bundle of cash worth P10,000 as assurance.
An hour passed but the men did not return.
The victim later found out that the money wrapped in a handkerchief was just a folded newspaper.
