Various groups will hold activities nine days after the clash in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
The Pilgrims for Peace will hold a prayer gathering on February 3 in front of Camp Crame as they call for “truth and accountability” over the encounter in Mamasapano that claimed the lives of the members of Special Action Force, Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) fighters and civilians, including that of a 5 year-old girl. The group calls on the public to wear black and bring candles and flowers.
Meanwhile, members of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan from Southern Tagalog region will hold a caravan from Calamba, Laguna to Manila dubbed as “March for Truth and Accountability”. The group will hold a vigil in Calamba on Tuesday and will start the caravan on Wednesday.
