DAVAO CITY – Three men were arrested by security personnel of a big mining company in Maco town, Compostela Valley after allegedly mining illegally in the area on Tuesday.
The suspects were identified as Arnel Lapuz Lato, 23, Romy Bareli, 30, and Rick Banaag Cazar, 19. They were turned over to the Maco Police Station. The three were all residents of Zone 5, Barangay Masara, Maco, Compostela Valley.
The suspects reportedly conducted underground mining activities in the area owned by Apex Mining Company. Security personnel, Dominic Lobo, caught the three at 11:00 am.
Seized from the suspects were three sacks of mineral ore weighing 41 kilos, two steel mallets and two moil springs.
