DAVAO CITY – Malacañang called on respect to the process of the rule of law on the disqualification case against Sen. Grace Poe.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, in a statement Tuesday said that the decision was under the functions of Comelec as mandated on the Constitution.
“The Comelec is an independent constitutional commission. So they went through process of confirmation,” he added.
The Second Division of Commission on Elections (Comelec) issued its 34-page decision nullifying the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) of presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe.
However, Lacierda said that they understand any legal move that Poe’s legal counsel will pursue and consume all the available remedies as to their right in this process. (davaotoday.com)
