Residents of Ilocandia Street, Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City put photos of Pope Francis in their barricades as they stage an early morning noise barrage and drill against demolition outside their community Friday morning.
The photos of Pope Francis were written with messages for President Benigno Aquino III calling for a stop to the demolition.
About 50 houses are expected to be demolished in favor of a certain Samuel Del Rosario who claims ownership of the land. Twenty houses were already demolished Thursday.
Residents have occupied the land in the last two decades.
