DAVAO CITY – The Alliance of Concerned Teachers condemned the ambush killing of two public school teachers in Cotabato City on Thursday, July 14.

Raymond Basilio, ACT Secretary General, identified the teachers as Fahara Kabuntalan La, 29 years old and Sittie Usop Abdullah, 31 years old, who are both teachers at the Mokamad Ali Elementary School.

“They were ambushed while on board a tricycle at Tamontaka, Cotabato City around 4:00 pm yesterday,” Basilio said.

Aside from the two, another teacher, Aisah Karon Malugka and the tricyle driver were also wounded from gunshot wounds, said Basilio.

The group urged the local government unit and the Philippine National Police to immediately resolve the case and determine the perpetrators of the incident.

“We also urge the local government and the Department of Education to immediately provide legal and financial assistance for the families of the two teachers and the other casualties,” he said. (davaotoday.com)
