A Congressional technical working group is currently fine-tuning a bill that seeks to regulate classroom sizes.
The House Committee on Basic Education began the public hearings on House Bill 443 or The Public School Class Size Law of 2013 last Tuesday.
The fine tuning includes setting a standard class size of 35 students per teacher, prohibition of class sizes exceeding 50 students, and the provision of a “large class honorarium” of one percent of the teacher’s daily rate for every student in excess of the standard class size.
