TAGUM CITY — The Commission on Election in Davao del Norte proclaimed early dawn on May 18 (Friday) the winners of the provincial race in the May 14 mid-term local elections.
Arrel R. Olao grabbed the congressional seat for the 1st District in Davao del Norte, garnering a total of 82,414 votes while Antonio F. Lagdameo Jr got the same seat for the 2nd District witha total garnered votes of 111,283.
In his come-back at the local political scene, former Presidential Adviser on new Government Centers Rodolfo P. del Rosario reaped from his supporters a total vote of 197,205 earning him the gubernatorial seat contested by incumbent Governor Gelacio P. Gementiza who got 67,471 votes and Municipality of Carmen Mayor Jesus M. Gaviola with 23,085 votes.
Victorio R. Suaybaguio Jr got the vice gubernatorial seat with 179,233 votes against his contender incumbent Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Shirley Belen Aala who got 78,144 votes.
Topping the race for seats as SP board members in the first district of the province were Rogelio E. Israel, Macario A. Bermudez II, Antonio M. Lagunzad, Leopoldo A. Monteroso and Jose Recarido P. Federiso.
Winning the seats in the SP Board in the provinces 2nd District were Janet G. Gavina, Royo R. Salvador, Gregorio S. Facula, Artemio V. San Juan and Ely C. Dacalus.(PIA XI/JMDA)
