DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office said its “crime solution efficiency” has increased during the first quarter of the year compared to the same period last year.
Police Senior Inspector Milgrace Driz, spokesperson of the DCPO said that the first quarter of last year, crime solution efficiency was only 57.21 per cent compared to the same period this year which was 74.94 percent.
She said that first quarter of last year, the total crime volume was 4, 043 with 2, 985 crimes “cleared” and 2, 313 crimes “solved.”
Meanwhile for this year, the total crime volume is 3, 846 with 2, 985 crimes cleared and 2, 863 crimes solved.
Statistics from DCPO shows that out of the total cases of crimes for the first quarter of this year, 746 are crimes against persons or cases of murder, homicide, physical injuries and rape.
Meanhile, the DCPO also recorded 846 crimes against property or those that involve robbery, theft, carnapping and cattle rustling.
There are also 1,395 cases of violations of special laws and 859 other cases.
Driz said “this is because of our collaborative efforts of the media, police and army and the public is already tired of criminals.”
She said they also attribute the increase to the “double effort” of the police personnel in the prevention and solution of crimes.
