PANABO CITY — The Department of Education (Deped) here is preparing to launch the National Schools Maintenance known locally as “Brigada Eskwela”.
The five-day activity will kick off at Panabo National High School on May 30, according to School Principal Memia Infiesto.
“A kick-off ceremony will be held in a public school offering Senior High School Program, the final stop of the caravan,” Infiesto said.
This year’s annual school maintenance effort is anchored on the theme: “Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos at Handa Mula Kindergarten Hanggang Senior High School.”
As part of this year’s Brigada Eskwela, a program called “Adopt-a-Classroom” is initiated in order to “ensure that the school facilities are ready for the school opening in June,” Infiesto pointed out.
She urged education stakeholders to participate in the “Adopt-a-Classroom” and to contribute their time, effort and resources to the school’s maintenance effort.
Apart from the school’s stakeholders, DepEd also invites groups or individuals from the local government units, private sector, and other parties help in the maintenance effort.
The education department here “encourages parents and stakeholders to join the weeklong activity aiming to clean, repaint, undertake minor repairs and decorate schools.”
Since 2014, PNHS was awarded as the Best Implementing School for Exceptional Secondary School category for Brigada Eskwela in the National level. (davaotoday.com)
