Duterte announces plans for new form of government

DAVAO CITY – The camp of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte announced through spokesman Peter Tiu Laviña, the plans for transition towards building a strong foundation for the new Republic of the Philippines.

Laviña said that they conducted meetings with the camp’s executive committee and discussed possibilities for a smooth turnover and transition with the Aquino administration.

He added that preparations involved the formation of a transition team which consists of: three overall transition committee, selection committee, policy group, and inauguration committee.

The selection committee will help Duterte identify and select the members of his cabinet, Laviña said.

He said that the policy group will work on major programs that Duterte should address within the first 100 days, first three months, and first six months of his administration.

For the turn-over of the office of the president in less than two months, Laviña said the inauguration committee will head its preparation.(May Anne Love Deseo/davaotoday.com)
