DAVAO CITY – Pre-screened beneficiaries of Pilmico Foods Corporation were given egg machines and piglets as new livelihood alternatives.

Pilmico, the food subsidiary of  Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc., said they donated eight egg machines and 20 piglets as part of their Mahalin Pagkaing Atin campaign in Mindanao.

Pilmico said the donations “will enable local farmers to sustain their livelihood through an easy-to-manage business with a quick return on investment, despite the threats of poverty, tragedy, or conflict.”

“As Partners for Growth, we are pleased to be able to extend assistance to the farmers of Davao through our egg machines and piglets. We hope that through Mahalin Pagkaing Atin, we will be able to provide the means for our farmer friends to uplift their lives and sustain an adequate livelihood,” said Sabin M. Aboitiz, Pilmico President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Pilmico said they have already donated a total of 646 piglets, 191 egg machines, and 14 agri-posts where beneficiaries receive feedbags as restart-up capital. It said 304 families nationwide have benefited from the program.(davaotoday.com)
