DAVAO CITY – The Davao del Norte Provincial Police Office (DNPPO) said only 78 crimes were reported as the province hosted the week-long 2015 Palarong Pambansa.
A police official said the number was a decrease compared to previous weeks before the May 3-9 Palaro games.
The 78 crimes were reported from May 4 to May 10. Out of the crimes reported, 48 were index crimes and 30 were non-index crimes.
The data show that from March 30 to May 3, the weekly crime volume ranged from 103 to 141.
Police Provincial Director, Supt. Samuel Gadingan said the visibility of the police, military and local “force multipliers”, or police auxiliaries, contained the occurrence of crimes as they were placed in all the roads going to the billeting areas and playing venues.
