Moro communities commemorate the infamous Jabidah Massacre, nearly half a century after the Marcos administration ordered the massacre of more than a score of Moro recruits. The massacre happened on March 18, 1968 purportedly to prevent the top-secret plan to invade Sabah, Maalaysia to leak out to the public.The Jabidah massacre became the rallying call for Moro secession and the inspired the founding of the Moro National Liberation Front.

Bai Ali Indayla, secretary general of Kawagib Moro Human Rights, said the Moro’s struggle for self-determination is always answered with war by the government.

Former Bayan Muna Rep. Joel Virador, presents the plight and needs of the evacuees in different evacuation centers in Maguindanao in a forum attended by Moro groups in the city.

Hundreds of students joined the protest action and urged the government to stop the all out offensives against Moro fighters in Maguindanao. A Peace and Humanitarian Mission was conducted in Central Mindanao.
