DAVAO CITY – A business man and a woman traded accusation of threat following an altercation over an unpaid debt filed their complaint before the police on the same day on Thursday.

Evelyn Muhanag Magno, 29, married and a resident of Bankerohan was the first one to file the complaint at the San Pedro Police Station against Bernethly B. Casanaan, 26, a resident of Barangay 74-A Matina Crossing.

Casanaan countered with his own complaint only moments after learning that he has been the subject of a formal complaint.

The complaints blottered at the police showed that they started from the altercation over Casanaan’s debt of P60,922 to Magno.

Magno told police that she went to Casanaan’s store at around 9:00 pm Thursday to collect her money but opted to get one sack of rice from the store after Casanaan said he has no money yet to pay his debt.

This irked Casanaan as he reportedly told her to leave while allegedly saying “Lakaw na diha ‘te kay basig mapatay taka (Leave now or I might kill you).”

Magno said she was terrified by the threat prompting her to complain to the police.

Casanaan countered however, with a complaint in the same police station that he also felt threatened when Magno allegedly asked someone to get a gun after learning that he could not pay her.

Casanaan also said he was threatened last December 29 and 30 last year when Magno allegedly told her “magbantay lang ka sa amoa (You better watch out for us)”. (davaotoday.com)
