DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Fans of Visayan songs will be treated ”in a night full of fun” as a local radio station here puts up a benefit concert showcasing local artists, organizers said.
Eleven artists from various parts of Mindanao are set to take center stage with VisPop (Visayan pop) royalty singers Jackie Chang and Kurt Fick on Saturday, December 9 at the Davao City Recreation Center.
The artists will perform their original Bisaya compositions for the first ever “Ato ni Juan: The Concert 2017” presented by Radyo ni Juan Network.
Six local artists from Davao City including Frostrated, Siid Enahya, Repsi Pacudan, Raul Marilao, Pitlagong and Venz and the Israelites will perform in the concert. The other local artists are Raztic of Davao del Sur; Catribu Nitibu from Davao Oriental; and Davao del Norte’s Michael Niaga, Kalye Tres, and Kuntaw Mindanao.
Vispop’s Fick and Chang are both Cebu-grown artists who rocked the radio waves with their “hugot” songs “Hahahasula” and “Pero Atik Ra”.
Juliet Trazona, Radyo ni Juan Network Music Director said the concert “aims to promote Mindanao-based local singers and bands with original Visayan song compositions.”
“Part of the proceeds of the concert will be donated for the school supplies and other needs of Lumad students of the Assumption Interfaith Academy Foundation (AIFI Inc.) in Paquibato District,” Trazona said.
Tickets priced at P150 and P250 are available at all Radyo ni Juan radio stations. (davaotoday.com)
