DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Residents are encouraged to store water supply for Saturday, September 30, as Davao City Water District (DSWD) announced a 16-hour water interruption in major parts of the city.
To improve its services, some areas served by Line 1 of Dumoy Water Supply System will experience no water supply from 9:00am of September 30, Saturday to 1:00am of Sunday, October 1, said DCWD’s Facebook post.
DCWD needs to plug the existing 750mm diameter Mortar Lined Cement Coated Steel Pipe (MLCSP) and 600mm diameter MLCSP at Bankerohan Bridge. They also need to plug the existing 300mm diameter MLCSP to the newly installed 1000mm diameter ELECSP at Pichon Street corner Quirino here.
This will increase the water pressure in the affected areas.
The said maintenance process is also part of the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project that aims to improve water supply in the city upon completion in 2019.
Affected areas are Barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40 and right portion of Quirino Avenue from Bankerohan Bridge to corner J.P. Laurel Avenue;
Entire Bo. Obrero, Agdao, including Wilfredo Aquino (Jereza Subd., Park Avenue, Sarphil Avenue, New Salmonan, and Water Lily Village), Gov. Vicente Duterte (NHA Agdao, Sto. Niño Kasadya Village, and San Miguel Village), Leon Garcia Sr. (Gotamco, Coreas Village, Baybay Carpenter, Barrio Bagumbayan, and Agdao Beach), R. Castillo (Jerome Extension to Lanang Beach Club), Ubalde (Ubalde Village and Sto. Niño Pelayo Village), Lapu-lapu (Davao Farms and Bayside Village), San Antonio (Ruiz Village, Denia Village, YFC Village, Freedom Settlers, Ibula Village, and Belisario Village), and Centro (San Francisco Village, Mintrade, South San Juan, North San Juan, and Fatima Village);
Some Bucana areas: Savina, Sitio Narra, Manggahan, St. John, Kasilak, Sto. Niño, Bilusa, Sanasa, and Busna;
Some Lanang areas: Beach Side Homes, Ramos Village, Lizada Village, Villa De Davao Subd., and Lanang Beach Club.
“Water supply may be restored earlier if work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise. Hence, the would-be affected consuming public is hereby advised to store water in clean containers,” DCWD said.
