DAVAO CITY – Water consumers are encouraged to store clean water as a water service interruption will happen on Sunday, the Davao City Water District announced.
DCWD in its advisory said there will be three schedules of water service interruptions, where there would be low pressure to no water from 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.
The interruptions are scheduled at 3:00 AM – 5:00 AM, 7:00 AM-8:30 AM and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
DCWD said affected areas include those served by Tugbok Water Supply System un Tugbok, Mintal, Bago Oshiro, Catalunan Grande, Catalunan Pequeño, Bago Gallera, Sto. Niño and Tacunan; areas served by Riverside Water Supply System in Ula, Riverside, Tacunan, Field of Dreams in Biao Tienda and all its immediate environs; areas served by Calinan Water Supply System in portions of Riverside (Babad Compound, Upper Riverside and Purok 3); Calinan (San Roque Village, Francisca Village, Lanzona Village, Bagobo Village, Durian Village, Estrella Village, Pioneer Subdivision Homeowners Association, Hilario Subdivision Homeowners Association I and II, Datu Abing, Villafuerte, Calinan Proper, Buhawi Village, Fortune Village and Palarca Compound); Purok 8 in Upper Calinan; Puroks 2, 4, 5 and 6 in Dacudao; and Purok 2-3A in Malagos.
Another set of water interruptions will take place in areas served by Dumoy Water Supply System in Talomo, Ulas, Bangkal, Matina, Matina Aplaya, Ecoland, Matina Pangi, Ma-a, Langub, downtown area, Barrio Obrero, Agdao, Madapo, Marfori, San Rafael, Circumferential Road, Bacaca and immediate environs, Bajada, Angliongto Road / Mamay and immediate environs, Lanang, Bo. Pampanga and Sasa until Km. 12 and some areas in Bago Aplaya (Gulfview Executive Homes, Versari Village and Sto. Niño Village), Buhangin (from J.P Laurel Avenue to Panorama Homes, from Crossing Milan to Holy Trinity and from Ma-a Bridge to DPWH Panacan) and Panacan (ICSAMA, SAPAHA, Landmark 1, DPWH Depot and Philippine Naval Forces).
The second set of interruptions will happen from 3:30 AM-5:30 AM and 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM.
DCWD said its water supply systems in Tugbok, Riverside and Calinan and Talomo booster station “will be affected by Davao Light and Power Company’s (DLPC) power interruption on said date which is needed to facilitate the installation of DLPC’s Group Operated Air Break Switch and rehabilitation of Revenue Metering Equipment at the National Grid Corporation of the Philippine’s substation at New Loon in Mintal.”
“Although this power cut is shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re-switching on of the affected facilities, pressure build up and line delivery,” it said.
DCWD added the water supply may be restored earlier or later depending on the work scheduled. (davaotoday.com)
