One early Friday morning, Alcarlito Lampios parks his trisikad full of his collected trash, mainly recyclable materials, to have a cup of coffee and pan de sal along Magallanes street in Davao City.
Fifty-four years old Lampios hails from General Santos City. He moved to Davao City where he collects recyclable trash to sell. He said this has been his main source of living for five years.
He narrates his life experience, milling around the city collecting scrap materials until midnight. He sleeps anywhere “as long as I can rest during night time, Wala man koy balay kaulian (I have no more house to go home to), he said.
