Used engine oil spread around the neighborhood of Suha Village at Kilometer 10, Barangay Sasa in Davao City. Residents complain to the City Environment Office (Cenro) that spilled oil affected fruit and vegetables gardens, as well as bothered their pets.
Sacks of fertilizer compost for vegetable garden, chicken, dog and fruit trees like mango, lansones and guyabano were damaged.
They blamed an auto repairman for stocking on used oil which spilled during heavy rains on Monday.
Residents ask Cenro to regulate waste disposal and the Land Transportation office to trace the owner of the vehicle which stocked the used oil.
