Activist group Bagyong Alyansang Makabayan – Southern Mindanao led a cultural protest at Freedom Park during the July 4 Filipino-American Friendship Day. The group presented their messages through speeches and songs against “US Imperialist dictates” such as the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), and large-scale mining and plantation expansion. Performers include Palanca-awardee Don Pagusara and Samahan ng mga Artista ng Bayan (SamBayan).
