CLAIM: In her August 8 Facebook (FB) post, Krizette Laureta Chua shared two separate screenshots, one from Aangat Buhay PH’s FB post and another from a certain Bernard. She captioned it with “lol”, an acronym for the slang term — laugh out loud — in electronic communications.
The Aangat Buhay PH’s post showed a moviegoer-filled cinema with the caption “Wow ka Davao. #KatipsTheMovie”. Meanwhile, Bernard’s caption read: Wag naman ganyan admin, ako po yang nasa bilog at ang pinapanood namin ay MIM (Maid in Malacañang), ultimo kapwa mo kakampink niloloko mo wag ganun (with clown emoji)”.
Chua’s post generated 26K reactions, 2.4K comments, and 5.6K shares as of August 29.

FACTS:
News5 rated the netizen’s claim that the photo was during a screening of MiM as false. At the same time, Aangat Buhay PH was wrong in stating that the screening was made in Davao.
Filipino historian Xiao Chua claimed that he was among the audience in the said photo while watching Katips The Movie. He also clarified that he watched it at the Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City, not in Davao, last August 5.
“Ako po, companion ko at mga August Twenty One Movement members ang nasa orange na bilog at ito po ay showing ng KATIPS noong Biyernes. #Katips #XiaoChuaDiaryLifeOfAHistorian”, Chua wrote in his August 8 FB post, when he also shared personal photos inside the movie theater.
As of August 29, it generated 1.1K reactions, 36 comments, and 139 shares.
Aangat Buhay PH, a FB personal blog supporting former Vice President Leni Robredo, has made a separate post owning up to its mistake in a bid to avoid the spread of disinformation. It has asked forgiveness from its followers as it promised to “do better”. The post has 2.3K reactions, 904 comments, and 149 shares as of August 29.
It has since changed the caption of its first post into “Wow ka Araneta Center #KatipsTheMovie”, which has garnered 24K reactions, 6.1K comments, and 387 shares.
Chua is a vocal supporter of former President Rodrigo Duterte. She has over 400K FB followers but has been called out before for her erroneous posts online.
