TAGUM CITY — Three passengers were confirmed dead while 20 were injured in a truck incident at Barangay Santiago, Caraga in Davao Oriental on Friday morning, March 25.
The elf truck was en route to Cateel, Davao Oriental when it went out of control due to brake malfunction causing it to crash into the steel railing and plunged off a cliff. The truck, with plate number LGG-957, was driven by a certain James Marfe Antolin, according to Police Senior Inspector Al Anthony Gumban.
The Caraga police said the truck came from Tagum City with 23 passengers onboard. Out of 23, three were confirmed dead. Those who were injured were rushed to the Manay District Hospital and Davao Regional Hospital.
Below are the names of the passengers according to the authorities who helped with the rescue effort at the crash site.
Passengers who were confirmed to be dead include:
1.) Bryan Tuba Cano-og, 18 years old, male, a resident of Tagum City, Davao del Norte
2.) Vicente Malayan, 30 years old, single, a resident of Tagum City, Davao del Norte; and
3.) Ian Matildo, 21 years old, male, single, a resident of Tagum City

2.) Beverly Ramos, female, single, 24, a resident of Tagum City, Davao del Norte
3.) Cherylyn Villegas, female, 30 yo, a resident of Tagum City, Davao del Norte
4.) Jane Karl Amit, female, a resident of Tagum City, Davao del Norte
5.) Rene Dayo, male, married, 31 years old, a resident of Mawab, Comval
6.) Herald Yanong, male, single, 21 years old, a resident of Tagum City, Davao del Norte
7.) Arvin Belen, male, 25 yo, single, a resident of Purok Avocado, Brgy. Pangi, Maco,
8.) Rona Rose Ramad, female, of legal age, a resident of Maco, Comval
