DAVAO CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in region 11, clarified that alleged drug lord, Peter Lim was not invited for meeting last Friday, July 15 in their office but that he voluntarily surrendered to President Rodrigo Duterte to clear his name.

Peter Lim, a Cebuano-Chinese businessman who was accused of being involved in a triad, met President Duterte to deny that he was the Peter Lim alias “Jaguar” named by Duterte.

PDEA Regional Director, Adzhar Albani who was present during the meeting said President Duterte did not want the suspected drug personality to surrender without the presence of the law enforcement agency.

Albani added that Lim was instructed by Duterte to undergo investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice and the Office of the Solicitor General by due process. He said Duterte will also present the witnesses against Lim.

PDEA Director General, Isidro S. Lapeῆa, said that PDEA and other law enforcement agencies go after high value targets as one of the President’s directives.

He said the surrender of Lim “is a very good indication” for the anti-drug campaign of the President .

Lapeῆa said that the act of “surrender” of these drug lords shows the intensity of the campaign.

He added that more fillers from suspected drug lords will be coming out and “it’s the way they should do [surrender] or else they will face the force of the law against them”

Asked why alleged Lim chose to surrender here, Lapeῆa said “maybe he wanted to surrender to the president himself.”

As of now, PDEA have three fillers of alleged drug personalities however, Lapeῆa said that he cannot name these persons yet.

Meanwhile, Lim was directed by the President to face NBI and DOJ for investigation. (davaotoday.com)
