Slower cop mobiles seen to aid in spotting criminals in Tagum

Aug. 05, 2015

DAVAO CITY – City officials, together with the security forces and stakeholders gathered in a forum to discuss improvements on “genuine peace and security” in Tagum City last Thursday.

City Mayor Allan L. Rellon admitted that there are still things that need to be done before genuine peace and security in the city is fully achieved.

Rellon explained that genuine peace and security means “no more criminality – which are the things that scare us or weaken us.”

The forum served as a venue for stakeholders to assess the security situation of the city and come up with solutions.

Tagum City Police P/Supt. Lito E. Patay presented the “Patrol Plan”, wherein the “speed of mobile vehicles patrolling in the city [is] decreased from 20kph to 15kph to spot criminals and suspicious looking individuals.”

Patay added that, “there has been a significant decrease in the criminal incidents after last year’s peace forum.” (davaotoday.com)
