DAVAO del Norte has once again proven that it can be on top in various ways.
A consistent winner in Regional Consumer Welfare Month contests, Davao del Norte Province bagged again all major awards during the Regional Poster-Making Contest in Davao City last October.
The competition was among the highlights of the Regional Consumer Fair, as the Davao Region celebrated the Consumer Month. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 11 spearheaded the conduct of the activity in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) 11 and Regional Consumer Network.
The Davao del Norte bets emerged as winners in the poster-making tilt among the 18 participants from various high schools in the region.
Winners of the said poster-making contest were the following: first place, Alberto Dombase of Sto. Tomas National High School; second place, Bernie Ladaran of Tagum National Trade School; and third place, Anthony Pontillas of Marsman National High School. Another contender from the province, Janley Cris Ranolo of Tagum City National High School, was also awarded with consolation prize.
Aside from the success that Davao del Norte garnered in the poster-making contest, two business establishments from the province were likewise added to the list of Certified Establishments (CE) Silver Seal awardees in the region. These were the Herdsons Lumber and Construction Supply and Imperial Appliance Plaza.
This made the province to reap a total of 13 CE Seal awards, the highest in Davao Region.
The CE program of DTI is designed to promote and foster the highest level of business ethics and uphold a fair and honest marketplace through voluntary self-regulation and service excellence.
The DTI-CE Seal symbolizes commitment to nurture, guide, and protect both the consumers and establishments from unfair trade practices.
The provincial office of DTI in Davao del Norte expressed optimism that they will continue to garner awards in the succeeding Consumer Month competitions with the help of their local government unit (LGU).
