DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Barely 24 hours after a fire gutted at least a hundred houses in Barangay 5-A in Bankerohan here Tuesday, December 5, another fire broke out at a residential area in the city.
Some 25 families were affected by the incident at 3:40 am Wednesday, December 6 at Purok 24-B, Times Beach, Barangay 76-A, said Senior Fire Officer 1 Ramil Gillado of the Bureau of Fire Protection Davao.
Four structures were totally damaged, while two houses were partially damaged, said Gillado.
The fire’s point of origin, according to the official, was on the second floor of a house owned by Larry Comparedondo.
Maria Luisa Bermudo, City Social Services and Development Officer, said at least P3.7 million worth of properties were ruined.
There were no reported casualties in the incident.
This is the second time the city saw fire incidents this week, the first being at a residential area in Bankerohan on December 5. (davaotoday.com)
