MANILA — Kabataan Party-list, the leading youth party-list participating in the coming elections, today announced the Youth’s Choices among the senatorial candidates.

The youth party-list named 8 Genuine Opposition and two Team Unity candidates as those deserving to garner the much-coveted youth vote on May 14.

Raymond Palatino, Kabataan national president and nominee, said that they chose those whom youth and students perceive as ‘champions of and for the youth’s cause’ and who will serve as the ‘youth’s voice in the Senate’.

Among those named as Youth’s Choice for Senator are (in no particular order):

Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero, Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel Jr., Sonia Roco, Nikki Coseteng, Manny Villar of GO, and independent candidate Francis Pangilinan for their track record and persistent advancement of youth and students’ rights to education and employment.

Team Unity’s Joker Arroyo and Ralph Recto, and GO’s Alan Cayetano for upholding human rights and fighting against political repression.

GO’s Loren Legarda, who has been very vocal about the necessity and importance of youth representation in Congress.

“On May 14, we encourage youth and students to vote for these candidates. Let us vote for principled leadership and meaningful change in government. Let the youth decide who among the senatorial candidates are worthy of serving the country,” said Palatino.

Protest de Mayo , Vigil for Clean and Honest Elections

Kabataan Party-list also announced that it will hold a Protest de Mayo depicting issue-based gowns and outfits against electoral fraud and violence at 2pm today in Plaza Miranda. The parade will commence in a nationally-coordinated noise barrage along Espana at 5pm.

Hundreds of Kabataan Party-list supporters are also set to hold a camp-out vigil in front of Comelec on May 12 for clean and honest elections. ###
