The Truth Cinema Festival is now on its 2nd year in showcasing human rights films in different communities, schools and workplaces. Aside from areas in National Capital Region, included in this year’s leg are schools and peasant communities in Visayas and Mindanao Region.
The film programme gave space to show films on political and civil and economic, social and cultural rights It aims to show the real dire human rights situation in the country and generate discussion, collaboration and collective action on the issues hounding the human rights situation in society today. These films tackle the whole range of human rights, from economic, social and cultural rights to the political and civil rights.
This year’s Truth Cinema also aimed to call attention on the 65th year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, an important milestone only made relevant by the fulfillment of human rights or the sustained campaign for its protection and for awareness.
Festival will launch at Bgy. 123, Road 10, Manila on November 23, 2013. After the launching, the festival will be brought to other schools, workplaces, urban poor and peasant communities until January, next year. Free admission for the whole duration of the festival.
The Truth Cinema Film festival is organized by Tudla Productions, in cooperation with Liga ng Kabataang Propagandista, UP Aperture and is supported by Movies that Matter.
