DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. in Davao Region (Philexport 11) will organize an Exporters Congress April this year, an event which allows the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to exhibit their products.
“We will be inviting investors in the European market and all the other parts of the world to come over to Davao and probably invest, tie up with our Small and Medium Enterprises,” Philexport 11 President Ferdinand Marañon said. He added that those who would want to invest here in Davao will just have to tie up with an existing manufacturer which will help in the expansion of local manufacturers. Marañon also said that there are more than 6,600 products which will be duty-free to the European market.
Meanwhile, Small Business Development Center (SBDC) director Raf Vlummens said that the European market is different from the other markets. “The buying preference is different. We like to buy stuff that is exotic things. We like to buy things with story. I want just to underline that our exporters need to create new products, be creative and innovative,” Vlummens said.
