DAVAO CITY – More establishments were inspected last year if they passed the standards of fire safety.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region XI inspected 31,762 firms, a big leap from the 20,903 establishments it inspected in 2013. It also recommended 27 establishments for closure for failing safety standards.
Fire Inspector Nestor Jimenez said in a press conference Monday that “businesses had to secure a Fire Safety Inspection Certificate to renew business permits or they pay P4,000 as penalty.”
The BFP collected P47,510,647.32 last year, higher than the P45,551,832 in 2013.
