DAVAO CITY, Philippines—The city’s Civil Registrar office will be deploying registration teams in Paquibato and Marilog Districts as part of this month’s National Civil Registration celebration.
Shirley Arendain, birth division in-charge of CRO, explained that they selected Paquibato and Marilog Districts as it is a “challenge” to reach these far-flung communities where many residents remained unregistered.
Arendain said, “We are proud to say that we have registration teams. They will go to place that could not be reached by vehicles.”
She added that CRO will also set up mobile registration team in the city during the month-long celebration.
Earlier this month, the group also set up satellite offices inside malls to cater inquiries on birth, marriage, and death certificates.
After this month’s celebration, the CRO will continue the mobile registration team upon the request of a local government unit.
“The barangay will request, we will go there,” Arendain said. “There will also be registration in schools where teachers will be assisting the services of CRO.” (davaotoday.com)
