DAVAO CITY – The City Council committees on transportation and communication and government-owned properties have new chairpersons.
Two officials of the city council took their oath on Tuesday as the new heads of the said committees.
First district Councilor Edgar Ibuyan was nominated by third district Councilor Bernard Al-ag as the chairman of Committee on Transportation and Communication, previously headed by second district Councilor Tomas J Monteverde IV.
Monteverde quit as the committee chair last month reportedly due to personal reasons. Monteverde is still on-leave missing around 20 regular sessions of the council.
Ibuyan accepted the nomination and said he is “thankful”. Ibuyan is now heading the committees on Labor and Employment Opportunities and Transportation and Communication.
Ibuyan gave up the Committee on City-owned Real Properties, which he previously chairs.
After Ibuyan resigned as the head of the said committee, Al-ag nominated first district Councilor Bonifacio Militar to replace Ibuyan. (davaotoday.com)
