DAVAO CITY, Philippines- Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio officially cast her vote today for the 2019 Midterm Elections.
The mayor arrived at 8:34 AM at precinct cluster 361 at Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School in Matina, Davao. It did not take her long to vote for her candidate that she said can help her father’s administration effort for the country.
Mayor Duterte noted that in the last three years of her father, President Rodrigo Duterte had encountered difficulties in running the country because of the limited support, especially from the Senate.
She also expressed confidence the voters in Davao City would go for the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), especially the party’s senatorial bets.
She added they have already maximized all efforts until the allowed time to distribute sample ballots to make sure votes the votes for HNP candidates, from the local up to the senatorial bets.
“In the last three years, we’ve seen the president having some difficulties in pushing what he wanted for the country as his promise during the campaign, that’s why we really pushed hard in this campaign to present to the people HNP candidates that can extend support to the President and his administration,” Mayor Sara said.
“We hope that Davao City voters will carry our candidates,” she added.
After she voted, she also asked the public to go out and vote today to exercise their rights as Filipinos.
She also reminded the Smartmatic and the Commission on Election (Comelec) for a fair and honest election.
“We remind also the Comelec and Smartmatic to be faithful to the people’s choice,” Mayor Sara said.
Reports also indicate that President Duterte will cast his vote this afternoon in Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School. (davaotoday.com)
