DAVAO CITY – More than 15 million families will be included in the assessment by the Department of Social Welfare and Development to identify how many of them belong to poor households for the government’s poverty database by year-end.
The poverty database also known as the Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) identifies who and where the poor are.
In a statement Thursday, the DSWD said it is halfway through the assessment of 15,316,099 families where 10,189,457 households are already assessed.
In 2009, the DSWD conducted the first assessment and identified 5.2 million poor households out of the 10.9 million assessed. (davaotoday.com)
