DAVAO CITY – The Anti-Smoking Task Force here recognized outstanding police stations and station commanders who caught the highest number of violators of the smoking ban here. The awarding was held after the flag retreat ceremony on Friday afternoon.
“For this year from January to April, the police had already apprehended around 2,168 violators, meaning we have issued the citation tickets for those who violated the new comprehensive anti-smoking ordinance or city ordinance 0367-12 series of 2012,” said task force chairperson Dr. Domilyn Villareiz.
Villareiz said that in the first quarter of this year they already had collected P700,965 (from January to April 2015).
Villareiz also named the top five stations that caught a huge number of violators last year which includes the Mobile Patrol Group with 1,619, Police Station 3 in Talomo with 810 violators, Police Station 1 in Sta. Ana with 676, Police Station 2 in San Pedro with 466 violators and Police Station 4 in Sasa with 349 violators.
On the coming 31st of May 2015, the Anti-Smoking Task Force will be on its 13th year anniversary since it was established in 2002.
