DAVAO CITY – Incoming Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Chief Supt. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa mulls conducting a lifestyle check among the police to rid their ranks of those involved in illegal activities.
“We will do every approach — legal or illegal — to stop these officials from doing just the same act over again,” Dela Rosa said in a Philippine News Agency dispatch.
But Dela Rosa said there is no need to conduct a lifestyle check among generals who are allegedly involved in illegal drug trade.
“We already know these officials involved in illegal acts. It’s an open secret,” Dela Rosa said.
He said that he will talk to the generals once he assumes post as the new police chief.
”I will talk to them. I will give them a chance to prove that they are innocent,” he said adding that he will speak to the officers involved once he assumes the position as the new PNP Chief. (davaotoday.com)
