DAVAO CITY – Media members here shared their views and dismay during President Aquino’s last State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.
Jefry Tupas of the National Union of Journalists in the Philippines (NUJP) Davao Chapter, said that “the President’s Sona raised more questions than answers.”
“What happened to FOI (Freedom of Information Bill)? What happened to the killings of journalists? What happened to the Ampatuan Massacre? What happened to the culture of impunity?” Tupas said.
Mindanews news writer Antonio Colina, said he hoped this year’s Sona would be about Mindanao “since the region had been neglected for many years.”
“He [Pnoy] said less about us [in Mindanao], most specially about BBL (Bangsamoro Basic law),” he said.
