DAVAO CITY – A house helper was found dead inside her employer’s house here on Thursday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Marites Toribio, house helper of Daniel Tan’s family in Orchids Street, Ladislawa Village, Kilometer 5, Buhangin district. Toribio was found lifeless by police authorities inside her quarters with her hands bound by electrical cord. The victim sustained six stab wounds in different parts of her body.
Tan said that it was around 12:35 pm when he noticed that his house was unattended and the house helper was not around. Tan, together with the responding peace officers, discovered the lifeless body of the victim inside the servant’s quarter.
Tan said that prior to the incident, the victim informed him that their former family driver, Oliver Ligsay wanted to enter their house. He advised the victim to lock up all of the possible entrance and ask for assistance from the village’s security guard.
The CCTV footage during the day of the incident also revealed that Ligsay entered the servant’s quarter and went upstairs.
The police recovered a kitchen knife measuring ten inches long on the crime scene.
The authorities are still conducting investigation for the possible apprehension of the suspect, while the body of Toribio will be subjected to autopsy. (davaotoday.com)
