DAVAO CITY – The family of overseas Filipino worker Mary Jane Veloso is expected to join the Labor Day march on Friday.
Kilusang Mayo Uno said on Thursday that Veloso’s family “(is) expected to attend the Labor Day Protest, upon arriving from Indonesia, to express their gratitude to Filipino workers and the entire Filipino people for uniting and taking action to save their kin.”
Indonesia granted an 11th hour reprieve on Veloso’s scheduled execution by firing squad.
KMU said workers on Labor Day will condemn the lack of decent jobs in the country, “the reason why OFWs like Veloso are forced to work abroad and are being victimized by human trafficking syndicates”.
