DAVAO CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry will be opening Negosyo Centers in three cities in Davao del Norte province.
DTI Provincial Director Romeo Castañaga said they already negotiated with the city mayors of Tagum, Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) and Panabo for the establishment of Negosyo Centers this year.
In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, Castañaga said he recommended that a Negosyo Center be placed in the New City Hall in Tagum City which will be housing local government offices by March 7.
Castañaga said the other Negosyo Centers is proposed to be built at the ground floor of the new two-storey building that will be constructed in Igacos and the ground floor of the City Museum in Panabo.
“I hope that everything will be in place before the election, so that it will not be affected by whoever sits after the election,” he said.
Castañaga said the DTI will allocate a computer set, furniture and signages for the centers.
“We will also capacitate the employees assigned to carry out the functions of the Negosyo Center,” he said.
Based on the Go Negosyo Act or Republic Act 10644, the Negosyo Center will provide business registration assistance, especially for start-up Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), business advisory services through counselling, and business information and advocacy through trainings and orientations.
