DAVAO CITY – Two barangay reading centers in Tagum City received an estimated total of 500 books from the local government.
The activity was part of the Assistance to Barangay Reading Center Program where the City Public Library taps donors to donate books to barangays.
The beneficiaries of the donation were the local reading centers in New Balamban and San Agustin.
City Librarian Enrique H. Donayre said the program “contributes in shaping up the reading habits of the school children living in far-flung areas thereby contributing to the decrease and eradication of the illiteracy rate in the city.” (davaotoday.com)
