DAVAO CITY – An officer of the Philippine National Police Anti Kidnapping Group was found dead inside his quarters at the police office here Wednesday night.
The victim was identified as Senior Police Officer II Percival Pasigna, 46 years old and a resident of San Roque, Barangay Baybay, Malalag, Davao del Sur.
SPO2 Alfonzo Orbuda, who was on duty together with the victim, said Pasigna was resting at his quarter. However, when Orbuda knocked at the door several times, the victim did not respond.
Orbuda said he sought the assistance of retired SPO4 Jeronie Echavez Genero, who saw the victim lying on his bed unconscious.The police officers forcibly opened the door and tried to wake the victim, but he did not respond.
The victim was brought to St. Felix Hospital, Bago Aplaya, Davao City but was declared dead by attending physician.
Police investigations showed the victim was taking medications for his hypertension and was believed to have died due to cardiac arrest.
Pasigna’s body was brought to St. Peter funeral parlor in Toril, Davao City for autopsy. (davaotoday.com)
