DAVAO CITY – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Region 11 formally announces its search for the Model OFW (overseas Filipino worker) Family of the Year Award (MOFYA) 2015.
In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, OWWA said the award aims to “honor the sacrifices and contributions of Filipino migrants, highlighting the best practices of OFWs and their families in overcoming the challenges of migration.”
The search focuses on OFW families who have nurtured strong family relations, properly managed the financial benefits from overseas employment, excelled educationally as well as professionally, and achieved positive impact in the community where they belong.
Two outstanding OFW families will be awarded per region – one for the land-based and one for the sea-based category. The winners will represent the region in the national contest.
Nomination forms and details on the 2015 MOFYA are now available at the OWWA office located at GB Cam Building, Monteverde St., Davao City. (davaotoday.com)
