DAVAO CITY — Two soldiers of the 68th Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army were wounded after an attack by the New People’s Army in Barangay Palma Gil, Talaingod, Davao del Norte on Tuesday morning.
Army commander Lt. Col. Zosimo Oliveros said that NPAs immediately withdrew after a 20-minute firefight in in Sitio Bayabas, Barangay Palma Gil.
“Pursuit operations are still ongoing”, Lt. Col. Oliveros said.
The soldiers suffered minor shrapnel wounds and burns after an explosion of improvised explosive device (IED) around 7:50 am. Oliveros said the troops are now in stable condition.(davaotoday.com)
