Gabriela Women’s Partylist representative Luzviminda Ilagan said Thursday that the people’s protest will force President Benigno Aquino III to resign.
“No Philippine president stepped down on his or her own. It was the people’s protest that forced them to do so. It has been done before and it can be done again,” Ilagan said.
Ilagan clarified that they are not calling on military elements to stage a coup d’etat although they are supporting calls for the president to step down.
