DAVAO CITY — The number of individuals who availed Tagum city’s medical and social services caravan has increased to 20, 931 from the 8,437 individuals last 2013.
The caravan dubbed “Operation Hugpong Serbisyo para sa Tagumenyos Festival” offered free services including minor surgeries, dental services, circumcision, therapeutic massage, haircut, cosmetology and optical services.
There were also legal consultations, COMELEC registration, civil registration, mini jobs fair, referrals for National Statistics Office, Department of Foreign Affairs, PhilHealth registration for senior citizens, application for social pension and solo parent, and anti-rabies dog vaccination.
Executive Assistant IV to the City Mayor Jalmaida Jamiri-Morales, who heads the organizing committee of the festival, said the beneficiaries mostly come from those living below the poverty threshold. She said they are now preparing for a more extensive Hugpong Festival next year.
