DAVAO CITY – The Tagum City Police Office (TCPO) said they will solve the killing of media club president Gregorio Ybañez in 30 days.
In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, TCP Information Officer Police Inspector Anjanette Tirador said the city’s police is currently working on a lead to identify the suspect.
Tirador said they are profiling owners of silver-gray Honda Fit cars, a vehicle reportedly used by the suspects of the killing. She said that the provincial police has endorsed to Police Regional Office 11 the creation of Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) to solve Ybañez’s case.
Tirador said the SITG will be composed of various investigation agencies of the national government.
“The SITG is chaired by Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO) chief, [together] with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) as the vice chair, and its members are the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), prosecutors and other investigating agencies,” she said.
Meanwhile, Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon calls for Tagum residents “to inform him and the police of death threats they received so the city government thru the police office can provide security.”
